Why I Started This Blog

More than a year ago I started writing posts on this blog. However, I wasn’t very sure of what I wanted to get out of it and also, how much I was going to enjoy it in the long term. After checking some of the first articles I made, I realized I had never created a post focused on the WHY of this site and of course, the reasons why I continued with it.

If you read every one of my articles, it’s easy to understand the mission and the essence of the blog. However, the fact that I change topics occasionally can be misleading.

The idea to open my own online journal had been wandering around my head for a few months before I jumped into the pool. It wasn’t a spontaneous move after a conversation with a random stranger on the bus or anything like that. The thought of having a nice space to write about lifestyle improvement and mindset, along with consumer habits excited me like a cat chasing a LED light. I also had a desire to improve my writing techniques.

After putting together every piece of the puzzle, I realized that an online site was the best conclusion. Let’s go back to February of 2018.

I had just moved to a new flat and was writing about the lessons I had learned first-hand during the process. The nuisance of having to store everything, plus the stress of finding the space I didn’t have for unused products I didn’t want anymore, alongside my recent interest in minimalism, gave me an extreme sense of self-awareness.

My terrible consumer habits (which I knew were also common in other people) had to change, and now there was a place to document everything. As I kept writing about the changes in my lifestyle and mindset, I also started implementing some financial advice related to domestic economy.

And I was loving it. I have to be honest here, my past knowledge in the financial ground would go as far as switching supermarkets to buy the cheapest juice and leaving all your savings in your bank account forever.

Another reason why I continued this blog was the motivation to learn even more about the topics I was writing about. I started reading books about money, minimalism and simple lifestyles. The daily lives of their respective authors seemed to be easier, clean and their priorities were on point.

Before I started reading and following channels, blogs and news related to financial topics (which I will mention in another post), many areas of my life like gratitude and sentimental value were often connected to materialistic behaviours.

After almost a year of sharing my discoveries with techniques to improve lifestyle routines and spending habits, I was enjoying the process and wanted to keep building a community with people that had the exact same urge to improve their lifestyle. People that could be able to apply the practices that suited them best in order to be happier and acquire a more positive mindset (and a bigger bank account, if possible!).

When it comes to movies and tv Shows, I just want someone to enjoy the benefits of every hour I spend Googling lines like “Best European movies 2018” or “Best US movies 2019”. I think it should be a common social duty to inform everyone of the latest creations of the seventh art.

Now, every time I think and spent time reflecting on something, from how to save money on clothing, to new terms like “Lifestyle Inflation“, I share them with you and those minutes never go to waste. The effect is better than just forgetting about it. I share an idea and you guys decide if you want to implement you into your life and test it.

Testing and testing, that’s how you get the best results. Trying different habits, diets and routines is what makes you understand which are the best ones for your life, your body and your mind.

Having encouraging readers that get the best out of my posts was and is amazing. Reading your thoughts and experiences is one of the best benefits of what I do.

Long story short, we live and we learn, sharing is caring and all of those corny things that proverbs say. I will keep sharing with you anything that is fairly interesting to share. Thanks for reading!
