Self-Care Calendar
Self-care is probably one of the most underrated things ever.
If we are having a busy day, the “self-care” time is usually one of those moments we skip in order to make the most of our day.
However, self-care is also an amazing way to reduce stress and feel better for a few minutes. I usually don’t do this every single day. Not because of the lack of time, but because there are many different ways to practise self-care and the best way to do them is to prepare a calendar with your favourite ones.
I have prepared my own calendar with a few self-care activities for the week and this will give you an example so you can create your own self-care calendar! Activities that help you cope with stress and for when you feel tired or exhausted.
Make it a priority even if you don´t have much time.
For a start, what can we categorize as “Self-care”? The practice is different for each of us. It depends on your mood, personality and tastes.
An example of your self-care list could be: A long hot bath, an exfoliating and face mask session, a warm drink with soft music to meditate, a write in a journal, a feet massage, taking a nap, smartphone break, positive Youtube channels, creative activities like drawing or painting, play for a few minutes with your pet, yoga or gratitude, among many others.
With this calendar, you will not just practise a daily self-care routine, but you will also master the art of doing it in many different ways.

I encourage you to try many different options. If you feel like your Yoga time is not relaxing enough, you can change it next week and do something different that helps you feel happier and relaxed.
If you happened to have a whole day off from any type of responsibility, you can use it to do a “self-care marathon”. From the moment you wake up, your day will be filled with self-care. Doesn’t it sound great?
Wake and prepare yourself a hot drink you enjoy while meditating. Eat something nice and healthy. Then, you start drawing or painting or doing something creative.
When you finish, stretch your muscles and put some music while you do your yoga exercises. During the afternoon remember to consume some sort of content that makes you feel inspired, like reading a book or watching some Youtube channel related to your passion.
Write in a journal which steps are you putting to work in order to get what you want and create a gratitude list with every aspect of your life you feel happy about. During the evening, you can get a feet massage.
And finally, the icing on the cake will be to prepare yourself a hot bath and put on a face mask. Try to be careful though, some face masks are made to “exfoliate, aka strip your skin off your face” when you try to take it off.
I know that this idea is not possible for most people, but think about it, maybe it’s worth organizing everything and do all your chores on Saturday even if you finish later in the day. That way you can have the whole Sunday just to treat yourself.
Try to do it once and share your thoughts with me!

Painting is amazing, I used to have an adult colouring book and those minutes painting were the most enjoyable and relaxing of the day 🙂
