Night Routine
In my last post, I talked about being a morning person and how meaningful that is in order to feel more positive and relaxed.
As a person who is likely to sleep pretty bad, I have started using a different night routine that is helping me fall asleep faster and feel better those last minutes of the day. I believe that each person has his/her own night routine, so let me know in the comments which is your best ritual before you go to sleep.
The truth is that my night routine is quite long and full of steps, but if you like you can try yourself some of them and put them to practice.
I wash my teeth and then my face afterwards, I like using warm water to wash my face properly, I use an oil and a peppermint face wash. After that, I use a toner and a moisturizer to hydrate it for the night. I also use a hair oil in order to have my hair shinier the next morning. Then we always watch an episode from a tv show in bed. Some people don’t recommend to do this, but I find it quite nice. We are currently watching “Bojack Horseman”.
While watching the episode, I find extremely helpful having a camomille tea to help me relax. This is a new step I introduced recently and I found it effective from the first time. After finishing the tea and watching the episode, I spend a few minutes writing in one of my notebooks about the day, the things that I have done and the ones that I should do the next day.
I use the last few minutes before falling sleep to hydrate my body more. It is extremely important to take care of yourself and give your body the message that you care about it and you want it feeling well. I use a very powerful hand cream, some eye cream and lip balm to finish.
One of the things that helped me a lot is to use some peppermint essence on my sheets after cleaning them to feel the nice calming smell while I sleep.
Need to improve
Prepare everything the night before.
A few days ago, I forgot the keys. It’s funny how crazy everything can go in the morning just because I was feeling lazy the night before and didn’t prepare everything.
I need to prepare my clothes and bag to get to my job in order to feel more relaxed in the morning and don’t forget the keys again.
Get the breakfast ready
I like having a nice and healthy breakfast, but most of the times I end up getting a banana and then having a coffee at work just because of the lack of time. I know it would help me to prepare something healthy and sweet for the morning.
Practise mindfulness.
It’s hard for me to keep my mind clear for more than a just few seconds. I am trying to improve this part, and maybe it’s good to do it for a few minutes before going to sleep in order to have a night full of rest.
The night routines are something personal and every single person has its own methods and preferences. Some prefer reading, some listen to music and do some yoga and others don’t need a proper night routine because they sleep like babies, if you are one of those lucky few, congratulations!!
Let me know which one is your favourite step before going to sleep!

Thanks for sharing your night routine! It’s really important to organise everything for tomorrow before going to sleep or otherwise you will end up running during the morning!!

Exactly, I still need to improve a couple of things though hehe

I experience the same difficulties at night that you do! After dinner, I usually want to hang out with the hubby and kids instead of cleaning up and getting everything ready for the next day! I often stay up really late working on my blog and posts, etc. It’s tempting to stay up late, especially on nights when the rest of the family checks in early!

I know, it can get quite difficult! Feel free to share your blog’s details anytime 😉
