High Expectations for 2019

We are only 5 months away from the end of the year, but there are still so many news regarding upcoming TV shows and interesting films. Apparently, the months of June, July and August and September will bring a nice amount of sequels and new movies that are making me have extremely high expectations about what’s left of this year, and that is exciting!

Queen of Hearts

Release Date: 6 of September of 2019

A Danish drama about a woman who feels empty about her life and starts having a dangerous relationship with her stepson.

To be honest, all the movies this actress have made have been gold to me. I would watch the movie even if it was a crazy looking sci-fiction one (which I don’t like really!). I am positive that Queen of Hearts will be a movie worth watching and the only negative think about it it´s the time we will have to wait until having it on theatres.

The Souvenir

Release Date: 30 of August of 2019

I am intrigued by this one. To be honest, I saw the trailer and felt very curious about the main characters. Apparently, The Souvenir will bring us to the 80s when a film student falls in love with an older man.

The Goldfinch

Release date: 27 of September of 2019

The original synopsis got my full attention. We will get the whole package: some drama at the beginning, intrigue and even action, what else can we ask for? Apparently, a young kid who was involved in a terrorist attack steal a piece of art and years later gets in trouble with the mafia and so on.

Well, I don’t know what you think, but I am going to be the first one on the queue the day it comes out (or maybe not the same day but the same week definitely :-)).

As well as movies, the next few months are going to be filled with amazing…

Sequels!

Succession

Release date: 11 of August of 2019.

My number 1 TV show of the year!! I honestly cannot wait to see the sequel. After watching the first season (twice!) last year, I can remember every single thing going on in this TV show. I talked about it on a previous post and, if you are also waiting, remember, it´s next month, so we´re getting there!

The Gangsters are coming!

And they are very close!

The last season of Peaky Blinders will start on the 18 of July and we will be able to enjoy the action and events this awesome TV show have been bringing since the beginning.

Edit: Apparently I misunderstood the release day by a unique unofficial Premier. We will have to wait for more 🙁

Are you horsing around?

Did somebody call for a sixth-round of Bojack Horseman?

Supposedly, we will have new episodes before the end of 2019. When? I don’t know! Whaaaaat?
Apparently, there is no release date confirmed, so we will have to wait!

Gossip Gossip…

Do you remember the adventures of James and Alissa during the first season of The End of the F****** World?

Well, some say that there is a high chance of having the second season before the end of the year. Apparently, the production started in March 2019.

However, I haven’t found a specific date. Do you think they are going to launch it all of a sudden and surprise us?

This would be pretty cool, If I remember correctly, Black Mirror did that once too. Imagine how excited would be if one day we woke up to the revelation that one of our favourite TV shows is out!

Am I forgetting something?

After I posted my previous and of course, super professional review of some of my favourite TV shows, I encountered something new.
And, I take my responsibility of informing you of every awesome show very seriously, so I am going to take this opportunity to mention Barry.

Barry has a different tone of voice. Very short synopsis: A professional killer ends up being part of a drama course in Hollywood. He is pretty bad at doing everything except for killing people.
Despite how weird it sounds (so weird I almost didn’t give it a chance), the story is great. It´s a very comic, dark/sarcastic show with awesome characters and a story that, despite being quite funny, is not far from reality.
The great news? The 2 first seasons are out! And it’s been confirmed there will be a third season next year!

Which movies and tv shows are you more excited to watch? Are you good at holding the painful wait?

Great list of movies and TV shows!
However, I was a bit dissapointed with the last season of Peaky Blinders.. what did you think of it?

      I know what you mean.

      **(Super Spoiler Alert)**

I was loving the beginning of the season, and that crazy event where Polly seems to betray Thomas was completely mindblowing. The disappointment for me came after they showed it was all a “fake move”. I thought it was a weak move and didn’t love the twist…The last episode, when he gets into politics, made me feel like that would be the end of the TV Show. Despite being my least favourite season, I still think it’s a great show and will keep watching it 🙂

The movies sound very good, specially Queen of Hearts! I saw the trailer a few weeks ago and I am eager to check it out!

I discovered Barry a month ago or so (I think it’s when the 2nd season just came out) and I loved it so much! The premise is silly but the dialogue is very clever, loved it.
I’m very interested about Succession, I need to start watching it…

    • Kiira Smith

Yeah, I feel Barry hasn’t been as promoted as other shows, but it’s great!
You can give Succession a change, I loved every part of it 🙂

  • Jude

I loved Succession! One of the few times for me where the weekly wait for episodes was unbearable!! It’s back in less than a month…

    • Kiira Smith

Yes, I started watching it when there were 3 episodes out. The wait for the last one was a real pain.
I think the second season will be as good as the first one!
