    Cold Weather Makes My Day

I am currently writing this at one of the Starbucks’ locations spread around Sydney. It’s been a while since my last visit (the iced caramel macchiato tastes different), but today was the perfect day for it. I can see the rain starting to pour from the window. I didn’t bring an umbrella, and the bus station is a seven-minute walk away, but I couldn’t be happier. Winter always awakens something in me. Some people are surprised when I express my love for this season, especially given my Mediterranean roots. But a few understand it; they mention the coziness of staying indoors with warm drinks. While I enjoy the idea of…

    The Tales of the Year

Happy Belated 2024!     I hope you had a fantastic end of the year and an even better start to the new one! From my side, this New Year comes with plenty of life changes, including one more year living in the OZ and a new job, with an entirely different schedule (meant to make my life just a bit nicer than it was last year).  On top of that, it is summer in Australia! I can’t get used to this largely different weather, but I have been enjoying the sun quite a bit, and I am planning on having some surf lessons again! Aside from that, I have…

    New Favourites in New Life

Work and life in this new city have changed the way I feel towards how I spend my free time. In one of my previous posts, I mourned about my cozy hours in coffee places in London and about the delicious croissants you could find on every corner. I still miss them, very greatly. Personal nostalgia has been hitting me pretty hard this year. I still long for the efficiency of public transport and the abundance of career opportunities the British capital was able to offer. However, I have made some efforts to adapt to the new environment, and they have paid off! As time goes by and we head into…

    Latest and Favourites

It’s been a while since I last shared my favourites of the month. Living in a new country has given me a chance to introduce flavours, routines and hobbies while simultaneously abandoning some others. These are some willy-nilly-picked customs and behaviours that I have seen or done for the first time in my life.   No Shoes One of the first days in the city, I saw a couple walking down the street. They looked happy, engaged in their conversation, wearing comfortable clothes and not a single shoe in sight. I was shocked when a few days later I saw another guy walking around with no shoes. Turns out that…

    Moving Abroad

I thought today was a good time to share some exciting news and of course, take the opportunity to wish all of you a belated New Year!   As I mentioned in my previous post, the last few months have led to decision-overloading and planning for the future. And one of the most fun parts of having a blog is to use it in order to excessively romanticise your life. You can write articles of 2,000 words about anything that’s happening in your life, from buying a second-hand Rolex during your last trip to Istambul to deciding to sell your second-hand Tesla.   Let’s go, blogger-style:   Part 1: Storytelling…

    What Makes Me Feel Good

It’s fair to say that my free time during the last few months has been pretty unproductive. I felt tired after work, skipped the gym and any kind of physical activity and stayed home looking at my phone almost every evening. And I can see how badly this routine is affecting me. I feel more exhausted than ever and the high temperature isn’t helping at all. It’s been a fairly slow and repetitive month and part of me can’t wait for July to be over. But I can’t blame July or any other month in the calendar for my actions. When it comes to the internet of my phone Apps,…
