5 Amazing Life Hacks to Improve your Life

Here are a few techniques that I want to share with you today. Some of them can be life saving for a few and some others can improve your lifestyle a little bit. Yes, life can get tough, but if you decide to follow my 5 amazing life-hacks, you might avoid a heart-attack!

Wednesday Off

Most of us have a limited amount of holiday days we can request each year. We love using them to travel and everyone I know uses almost all of them to go abroad, visit another city or spend a few days sunbathing on a beautiful beach.

The plan is completely understandable and to be fair, I do that too. However, a few months ago, I was starting to feel burned out. I was busy every day and I felt exhausted. Despite needing a day off, I hadn’t really booked any holidays and I felt like requesting a day off without booking holidays was a waste.

It was not a waste. I decided to try it for the sake of the science (and my mental health) and It was pretty nice. Needless to say, you don’t have to use ALL your holiday days to take mental health breaks, but doing it once every several months can help you cool off, especially if you are going through a stressful time.

If you do it, make it useful. I love having just any day (doesn’t need to be a Wednesday) where I can wake up, go to a coffee place, write and have some breakfast. Then, visit the swimming pool off-peak without running all over other swimmers on the same congested lane.

We can call it a “mental health day”. Yes, you sacrifice one holiday day, but in my experience, if you make it work when you really need it, it’s totally worth it.

Also, have you tried going somewhere during a weekday? You are like a child in an empty “Toys R Us”. There are no queues for coffee, no crowded food places, the cinema is almost empty. And you can walk around beautiful parks without being hit by a soccer ball.

The world is yours to enjoy!

Insert a card in your wallet with all your details

For the sleepy ones…

Insert a card with your personal phone number and email in your wallet, just in case you lose it.

Accidents do happen, and nobody likes having to make a call to book an appointment and request a new driving license and credit card. It’s a high price you have to pay for losing your wallet. If you don’t leave your details, nobody will know who the wallet belongs to and the it will probably be gone forever. If you are lucky and a kind soul finds it, they will get in touch with you.

Iced Coffee

For coffee lovers

If the weather is pleasant enough, you might feel like enjoying having a cold drink. I personally love this trick. If you want to prepare some iced coffee at home, you can start by putting some coffee inside the cube tray and create the best coffee ice cubes. After they melt, your coffee won’t be too watery and you will enjoy your chilled drink till the last drop. If you are tired of spending money in coffees, you can use this one as a life hack to save money.

If you don’t love ice coffee but want to enjoy yourself with cold drinks, you can do the same with fruit juice. Freeze some lemon juice with a few blueberries and mint and add it to your water. You will have a healthy drink with a natural and subtle fruit flavour.

Make sure you drink water

For the dehydrated

Staying hydrated is so underestimated. Most people just drink some juice or coffee and feel good during the whole morning.

I am the same, but this simple hack that has helped me to improve my habit. I have a water bottle with 1-litre capacity. Every morning I fill it up with water and bring it with me.

By the end of the day, I must have finished, at least, all the water inside the bottle. And that’s a nice way to keep the track of the water you drink. And apart from being a great life hack product, some water bottles are incredibly pretty!

Gratefulness Alarm

For all of us…

Set an alarm in your phone to practice gratitude at least once a day. Let’s say, if you set the alarm at 8 p.m, you will never forget to practice this important exercise.

If you had a nice day, it will be the perfect time to think about it and feel gratitude. If you had a terrible day, it can help you feel better about other areas of your life. To stop what you are doing for a few minutes and thinking about the things that are good with your life can be a great improvement.

That said, thanks for reading guys.
