My Super Belonging List

Some months ago, I explained a few of my tricks to spend less on those items we don’t need that much. I pushed myself to apply measures, some of them as drastic as making a list with the items I knew I was likely to overbuy.

A small piece of the list:

I thought it was worth dedicating a post related to the effects that making this type of list has. This is another picture of the current list:

As you can imagine, the reason I am publishing this piece is due to the positive results that it has had in my life. After a few months, I was truly buying fewer products. That said, I don’t think a list by itself is going to help you improve your shopping habits, but in my experience, the probability of success is pretty high!

I will leave you a mathematic equation that works for me:

List + Will to buy less = SUCCESS

Just by writing everything I own, I came to the conclusion that my priorities, especially those that came to buying were wrong.

For example, I had been looking for a new foundation for days when I had 3 different ones. On the other side, I had just finished my only hand cream (which is essential for me).

I haven’t changed my “modus operandi” when it comes to moving around the shop. However, I do have applied a new tactic that has made a substantial difference.

Before I make my way to the cashier, I have a last look at my trolley and think about how much I need each of the items. I ALWAYS end up going back to the shelves to leave some of the items I didn’t need but put on the basket because of the price or packaging.

After I get out of the shop with half the products I had on the trolley…oh boy…do I feel proud of myself!

Yeah, I thought it was time to do the update.
It’s hard to not to “overbuy” nowadays, right?
      Take care!

    Nice update!
It’s great because I was remembering your first post about the list the other day and I was wondering, how is that going now? hahaha I see now, looks like something quite useful to me!

Yeah, I wanted to make an update but I also wanted to give it some time.
It has been very useful for me, so I am keeping the list and just updating it whenever something changes.

      Thank you! 🙂
