4 Exquisite Drinks I am Loving

Hello!

I thought that today was a great time to share with you some of the drinks I have been preparing lately at home. I am doing my best to remember to stay hydrated and enjoy myself at home.

The good weather it’s coming and sunny days give us a spike of positivity that we needed. However, we (I) should remember to hydrate ourselves every now and then.

This made at home beverages will make your empty day a bit sweeter and healthier.

I have also recorded myself preparing the drinks. I have edited the videos and added music to two of them. That way you can see how I prepare everything in just a few seconds!

That said, I will list the recipes in order of importance, starting with the most healthy and clean and ending with the most indulgent and caloric.

Immune Atomic Bomb

The best way to start the day is by creating a mix of juices and spices that will clean your body inside out. I am talking about a detox drink that will boost your immune system and clear your skin.

I got the inspiration from the Youtube channel “Flavcity“.

The ingredients you need are lemon, honey, ground ginger powder, ground turmeric powder, coconut and hot water. I drink it as soon as I prepare it, but you can leave it in a glass jar and drink it cold later in the day.

Here’s the video!

You can add some additional spice like black pepper or cardamon but it is always up to you. And of course, the fresher the ingredients the better. I happen to have some spices ready to use, but boiling fresh ginger instead of grounded ginger is also a great alternative!

Hydration Heaven

The second one in the day is a drink I always prepare when I don’t feel like drinking plain water. Also, I love the beautiful colour the drink gets after adding water.

It’s extremely easy and you only need some ice cubes, water, lemon or lime and frozen berries.

If you want to upgrade this refreshing beverage, I suggest you try it with sparkling water. And remember to add some fresh mint leaves! Unfortunately, I didn’t have at home, but the subtle flavour of the mint will make you feel as if you were sunbathing on an exotic island.

Sweet Indulgence

I prepare this drink every time I want to have something sweet and creamy.Β I also prepare it when I want to have the second coffee of the day but I don’t want to stay up all night.

If you want to prepare it, you will need to get some coffee ready in advance and freeze it in a tray for ice cubes. You will also need some caramel sauce (or any other syrup) and the milk you like. I love using the Oatly Barista Edition for coffee as it’s thicker and it doesn’t taste too “nutty”.

If you don’t mind adding caffeine, you can customize the beverage by adding an expresso shot. You can add some coffee creamer and make it thick as a shake from 5 Guys.

The flavour gets better and better as the coffee ice cubes melt.

And finally, to close the day whilst rewatching the second season of Succession for the third time, I have customized a drink that I will name:

The Jalapeno Marguerite

As you can guess, I inspired myself in the traditional Margarita and customized it with some jalapeno liquid and adding the juice of a lime.

The ingredients you need if you want to try it are limes, ice cubes, jalapenos in a jar and natural orange juice. If you want to make it alcoholic, I highly recommend adding a shot of tequila.

I just realized that, if you want to make a fun addition to the cocktail, you can freeze the drink of your choice and add it to the mix like the previous coffee ice cubes.

For example, you can freeze a tequila shot and add it to the cocktail. If, like me, you take a few minutes to finish your refreshments, the ice cubes will melt as you enjoy it and the last sips will get stronger and stronger as you have it!

Have you tried any food or drink lately?

What do you think of the videos? Do you prefer the ASMR version or it’s nicer with background music? I am looking forward to keeping you updated on the books, movies and tv shows that I have discovered during the last weeks (some of them are actually great!).

Stay safe, stay happy and have a wonderful day!
